If you’re new to betting the Both Teams to Score (BTTS) market is one of the markets that attracts you first. Asian Handicaps with their half and quarter goals are a bit weird at first and goal lines with half goals don’t really make much sense at first as well. But we could all wrap our heads around both teams scoring in a match.

Here at Bet Dynamo we know that BTTS bets are incredibly popular and we want to give a few pointers to help you make better BTTS betting decisions and show you how to use the Bet Dynamo software to find value when making Both Teams to Score bets.

Betting on Both Teams to Score

We’ve written before about why people prefer to bet on Over 2.5 goals than Under 2.5; the reason is bettors want to see entertaining football matches with loads of goals, the same can be said for Both Teams to Score, bettors usually side with the Yes option of the market rather than the No side. This means that on many occasions the odds can drop by quite a bit the closer we get to kick off and there can be little or indeed negative value as kickoff looms, so it’s important to be sure that you’re making a good bet. Today we want to talk about a few factors when looking at the Both Teams to Score market; recent form, home/away from, team news and value.

First of all, head over to the Insights page on our website (Click Here ). Then you need to click on the wee settings icon in the top right of the page. For this example, let’s pick a high threshold percentage; 80%. So click on the slider and set it to 80%. In the odds, you can pick the desired odds, but we’re just going to leave it as ‘Any Odds’ Next you need to select BTTS in the Apply to Match Event section. You can then focus on the leagues you prefer but for this example we’re going to leave it on the default setting of all leagues. Hit Apply Filters and we’re good to go.

The webpage will refresh and you’ll see matches that meet the filters.

You can see that in our example here the Bet Dynamo software has found three matches from this weekend’s Championship action in England where Both Teams to Score: Yes, is likely and there’s value to be had.

Let’s use the Swansea vs Nottingham Forest match in the rest of the article. Now we need to drill down into the stats to see what else we can learn about the team.

Recent Form

This is pretty obvious, we need to see if both teams are scoring regularly. If you click on the fixture you’ll be able to see more stats regarding both teams. On average Swansea score 2 goals per match and concede 0.67, Forest score 1.5 goals on average and concede 1. Both are in very good form of late, both teams are undefeated in their last five matches.

Home/Away Form

Next up we need to make sure that the teams are in good scoring in their home matches and their away matches. As you can see, Swansea score 2.67 goals on average at home and concede 1 goal. Forest meanwhile score 1.33 goals on average and concede 1, so according to recent form it certainly looks like Both Teams to Score: Yes would be a good bet.

Team News

Pay close attention to injury news, Spanish striker Borja Baston has been on fire for the Swans, scoring five goals in his six appearances this season, if he’s out injured we’d have to think twice before making this bet. The same can be said for Lewis Grabban, who has found the back of the net on four occasions for Nottingham Forest so far this season. Don’t forget to look up injury and suspension news regarding the teams involved, a bet might look good initially, but if a team is missing their main attacking threat then it might be best to find another match to bet on.

Value

Regular readers will know that we’re written about Value Betting before (Click Here) and mention it a lot, but it cannot be stressed enough that you need to have value on your side when making bets. Thanks to the Bet Dynamo software we can immediately see if we’re getting value.

We can see that Both Teams to Score occurs in 83% of matches involving Swansea and Nottingham. 83% in probability terms is around 1.20 in betting odds. As you can see the current price for Both Teams to Score: Yes, is 1.73 so we’re getting some great value with this bet.
