Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United welcome David Moyes’ West Ham to Bramall Lane on Friday night to kick off this weekend’s Premier League action. The Blades have been this season’s surprise package and currently sit eighth in the league, however they’ve lost their two most recent matches and are coming up against a resurgent West Ham who have won both of their matches under their new, old, boss. Can they continue their run or will Sheffield United get back to winning ways here? Read on to find out where the value can be found in the betting markets.

Sheffield United vs West Ham Betting Tips and Predictions: Sheffield United

At home in the league Sheffield United are on a good run of form, they’ve won two, drawn two and lost one of their last five, scoring nine and conceding six. Over the season so far, the Blades have won four, drawn two and lost four of their 10 PL matches this season, scoring 12 and conceding 10, that’s an average of 1.20 and 1.0 goals per match.

As mentioned above they have lost their last two matches but we must add they were both away games against Manchester City and Liverpool so we should cut them some slack. There’s no doubt the Blades are a good side but they’re not scoring enough, they’ve been very lucky with injuries, their back five has pretty much been unchanged for the whole season and while they’re safe for this season next time around they’re going to need more goals to sustain their Premier League position.

Sheffield United vs West Ham Betting Tips and Predictions: West Ham

As mentioned above West Ham have won their first two matches since David Moyes returned to manage the Hammers, they’ve performed very well under the former Everton and Manchester United manager but you have to ask the question, why didn’t they make such an effort for former manager Manuel Pellegrini? Pellegrini has won it all, pretty much as a manager, was he too ambitious for the Hammers, too good dare we say. For now it’s a moot point, but it’s pretty obvious to see that the West Ham players don’t respect their managers and until that culture changes at the club they’re doomed to repeat the same behaviour.

On their travels this season, West Ham have won three, drawn three and lost four of their 10 away matches. They’ve scored nine and conceded 13, that’s an average of 0.90 scored and 1.30 conceded.
