Mauricio Pochettino’s season at Spurs hasn’t gone to plan yet. His team did put in a spirited performance against Southampton at the weekend though and will be looking forward to taking on Germany’s most decorated team in what could decide who finishes top of Group B in the Champions League.

Spurs vs Bayern Munich Betting Tips and Predictions: Spurs

Of course, last time out in the Champions League Spurs threw a 0-2 lead away against Greek side Olympiakos. And while the UK media took that angle, the headlines didn’t tell the full story. Spurs had been really lucky to go two goals ahead. Much too has been made about Tottenham having a rough season and while on paper the results haven’t been so bad, no shame in drawing with Manchester City and Arsenal, they really let themselves down losing to Newcastle at home, it’s how they’ve looked on the pitch that has riled people up.

Performances have not been good enough, it’s as simple as that. Want away Dane Christian Eriksson looks like he’s going to cry when he gets the ball and goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is again letting his side down on occasion. Were it not for some heroic performances from the ever-consistent Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min Spurs surely wouldn’t be as high as fifth in the Premier League table.

Against Southampton at the weekend it looked like the old Spurs were back, they were fired up and eager to win. Lloris made a massive howler of a mistake in goal letting Danny Ings in for a goal but still Spurs fought on and hopefully this match will be a turning point in their season.

Against Bayern Munich they’re going to have to be at their best, Bayern haven’t lost an away Champions League tie since losing to PSG two years ago. In team news, Poch has a full squad to choose from apart from Giovani Lo Celso who has been on the treatment table for a while now.

Spurs vs Bayern Munich Betting Tips and Predictions: Bayern

Niko Kovac’s Bayern Munich are unbeaten this season, having won four and drawn two in the Bundesliga and a 3-0 win in the Champions League against Crvena Zvezda. The champions have gotten off to a flying start in their title defence, well actually they’ve won it every season since 2012/13 and they’re pretty much nailed on to win it again. Currently the bookies have them at a lowly 1.20 to retain the Bundesliga title.

Bayern’s one problem area last season was their defence, averaging one goal conceded per game and in the Champions League in particular their aging defence looked rickitty. Kovac signed Lucas Hernandez and Benjamin Pavard from Atletico Madrid and Stuttgart and the pair have featured in five and six Bundesliga matches respectively. There’s already been an improvement too, they’ve only conceded four goals in the league so far. Philipe Countinho has been brought in from Barcelona on loan, as has Ivan Perisic from Inter, to bolster their midfield, both have featured a good bit this season and have three goals between them.

On the road, Bayern have won three of their last four matches and drawn the other one. In team news Leon Goretzka is out, Perisic is a doubt but could feature, the same goes for Hernandez.

The Asian Handicap line opened at 0.25 and there’s been some movement. Spurs +0.25 opened at 1.85 and has drifted to 2.04, while for Bayern it’s gone from 2.05 to 1.89 with the market believing Bayern are the favourites to win here.

The goal line opened at 3 and hasn’t seen much price movement. Both teams are in great goal scoring form and we like the look of Over 3 goals at 2.02.
