AC Milan host Lazio on Sunday night in their Serie A matchday three games. Five times all share a ‘perfect record’ start to the season and two of them are clashing here meaning one, or both, will lose that perfect start record. Over the last four season matches between the pair at the San Siro have seen them winning a pair of matches each and with both teams in fine goal-scoring form already this season we should see a few goals here. Let’s get stuck into the stats then and see where we can find some value.

As mentioned above, in recent clashes at the San Siro honors have been even, however, if we only look at Serie A games then we see quite a different picture; AC Milan have won four previous Serie A meetings at home with Lazio winning just one of those five games. Three of those games saw Over 2.5 goals, three also saw Both Teams to Score occurring. If we look at the five most recent games in all competitions then we see that both sides have won two and one ended level with both Over 2.5 goals and BTTS landing in just two of the five games.

Both teams are obviously coming into this match in good nick, both sides have won both of their opening Serie A matches this season, Lazio in particular have shined; they’ve scored nine goals over their two games and have conceded one in each game while Milan have netted five times over their two matches but have only conceded one goal.

Last season Milan won eight of their 19 home Serie A games, drawing six and losing five, averaged 1.63 goals per game and conceding 1.26. Lazio’s away record wasn’t great with eight wins, two draws and nine losses. Their scoring record on their league excursion was respectable though, averaging 1.32 goals per games, conceding 1.68.

There’s been some action in the betting markets, the price for Over 2.75 goals opened around 2.06 and has fallen to 1.82 at the time of writing. This means that most of the early value has been eroded but with two teams in great goal-scoring form those odds still aren’t bad. Anything lower though and 1.80 though and we’d avoid it. For an Over 2.75 goals bet to win we’d need four goals to win full and three goals to win half the bet.

Another bet that caught the eye was Over 2.5 goals and BTTS, obviously both teams have begun their campaigns in flying form and have been smashing in the goals and it’s hard not to see both getting on the scoresheet here. This doesn’t look like it’ll finish 1-1 though and we should see a winner so combining Overs and BTTS into one bet looks like a decent option.
