Serie A Sunday Double

3rd January 2020

Articles

Sunday sees the return of Italy’s Serie A after it’s short Christmas break. No doubt the players will feel refreshed and will have run off any excess weight added over the festivities.

Let’s have a look then at the two evening matches from the Bet Dynamo Insights Page, Genoa vs Sassuolo and Roma vs Torino for some betting value.

Genoa vs Sassuolo Betting Tips and Predictions

Genoa come into this match bottom of the league but they’re just three points from safety and no doubt after the break they’ll be looking to get their season back on track here. However, their record of late makes for some dire reading, they’ve won none of their last five matches, drawing two and losing three. At the Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris (Italian stadium names are mighty) they’ve won one and lost four of their last five league matches.

They’ve won two of their eight home league matches this season, drawing one and losing five. They’ve scored eight goals and conceded 11, so an average of 1.0 and 1.38 per match. Over 2.5 goals has occurred in 5/8 matches and BTTS has occurred in 5/8 as well.

Genoa vs Sassuolo Betting Tips

Sassuolo aren’t exactly wonderful on the road this season. They’ve won two, drawn three and lost three of their matches this season. However, over the last five on the road they’re unbeaten with two wins and three draws. They’ve scored 10 goals so far this season in the league away from home, conceding 11, an average of 1.25 and 1.38 per match. Over 2.5 goals has occurred in 4/8 and BTTS has landed in 4/8.

Genoa vs Sassuolo Betting Tips: Prediction

There’s no value in goals in this match as you can see from the image above and Sassuolo have the momentum so we’re backing them in the Double Chance market. Sassuolo and Draw is available for around 1.61.

Roma vs Torino Betting Tips and Predictions

Roma come into this on a good run of form, unbeaten in their last seven in all competitions, winning five and drawing two. At home in the league, they’ve lost just two of their last 15 matches, so pretty easy to see why they’re currently priced around 1.50 to win here.

They’ve won five, drawn two and lost one of their 8 home Serie A matches this season, scoring 18 and conceding 11, that’s an average of 2.25 and 1.38 per match. Over 2.5 goals has occurred in 6/8 and Both Teams to Score has landed in 6/8 as well.

Roma vs Torino Betting Tips

Torino meanwhile are on a decent run away from home, winning two and drawing one of their last three. Prior to that though, they’d lost four in a row on the road. So far this season, they’ve won three, drawn one and lost four away Serie A matches, scoring 10 and conceding 11, an average of 1.67 and 0.67. Over 2.5 goals has occurred in 5/8 matches and Both Teams to Score has landed in just 3/8.

Roma vs Torino Betting Tips: Prediction

Roma are a good side but their Clean Sheet record is terrible so Torino could present a problem here, however their BTTS record is even worse and there’s no value to be had in the BTTS market, unless you want to oppose it and bet Both Teams to Score: No at 2.10. It’s tempting, but Roma’s shaky defence is putting us off that.

Roma play a kind of swashbuckling football where they don’t really care about defending and they just want to outscore their opponents so we’re backing them to win at 1.50.

Both of these in a Double will give you odds of around 2.55 with various bookmakers.
