Articles

In this series of articles we want to write about the many aspects of betting on football accumulators that you need to know about so you can make better informed betting decisions. If you’re new to betting we want to introduce you to the exciting aspects of football accumulators and dispel some of the myths and if you’re longer in the game we hope you’ll find some new tips and tricks to help you become betting at betting on football accumulators.

What then is a football accumulator? An accumulator is where you have four bets or more combined into one, usually. When we have two bets in one, we call it a double, for three it’s a treble, four or more and we have an accumulator. The reason we said ‘usually’ at the beginning of the paragraph is because most betting websites refer to bets of four combinations and above as an accumulator, however some say that all bets that are more than a single bet are accumulators. Either way, it’s when different bets are combined so that the odds are combined and you have a chance of winning more money.

How to Pick the Best Football Accumulators

The best way for making good football accumulator bets over the long term is to try and make value selections. This is finding bets where the odds on offer from the bookie are better than what you think they should be.

Another good way to pick your football matches for an acca is to follow a good tipster who publishes his selections. Over on our VIP Facebook group we have a few mighty tipsters who are more than happy to share the picks they’re found thanks to the Bet Dynamo software, you can join the Facebook group here: VIP GROUP

Advantages of Football Betting Accumulators

The main advantage is that because you’re combining different bets for combined odds then you’re going to earn more money than if you had just bet on all of your selections as singles. We’ve all heard stories about people who have put down a few pence on a long shot and they’ve won and retired thanks to the win. It does happen, it’s rare but it does happen, although usually those types of bets are more to do with someone being lucky rather than someone sat down and did thorough research on 50 different football matches and got all of the results spot on.

It can be tempting to put down a small stake on a long shot in the hope that it will win, it can also be smart to put a couple of short odds bets together into one to get better overall odds.

Best Bookies for Betting on Football Accumulators

Many bookies now offer accumulator boasts so that you can get enhanced odds. There’s even a couple now who will offer lucky punters 10 times the odds that they’d usually receive for their acca.

The best way to see which bookmaker is offering the best odds on your acca is to go to an odds comparison site, put in your acca there and see which bookie gives the best odds. For example, from this weekend’s action in the Premier League and the Championship we fancy Wolves and Chelsea to beat their opponents Watford and Brighton and in the Championship we like the look of Derby to beat Birmingham and Both Teams to Score when Huddersfield host Millwall.

If we’d bet these selections as singles we wouldn’t have great odds, especially with Chelsea being just 1.45 to beat Brighton. However, if we combine them in an accumulator we’d get odds of 11.92. Below you can see which bookies offer the best odds for this accumulator.

In our next article in the series we’ll speak more about some tips and tricks for making better football acca bets.
