28th February 2019

Previews

Everton host Liverpool as they try to spoil their title challenge in the latest edition of the Merseyside Derby.

Form may go out of the window in derby matches but stats certainly don’t and using BetDynamo’s Insights we have picked out some fantastic bets.

Latest Odds

Unsurprisingly Liverpool are favourites for this match at odds of 4/7 whilst Everton are outsiders at 17/4. The draw can be backed at 16/5.

Team News

Everton have a fully fit squad heading into the match against their biggest rivals, Liverpool aren’t so luck with long term injuries to Joe Gomez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain still plaguing the squad.

Roberto Firmino came off injured against Manchester United last week and missed the Watford game but he is expected to be back in the squad for this match.

Preview

Everton have had a poor run of results against Liverpool not winning any of the last 18 meetings between the two sides.

If Everton were to win here it would be the best timing for the Toffees as it puts a huge dent in Liverpool’s title challenge.

Liverpool have suffered a small wobble in recent weeks drawing a number of games allowing Man City back into the title race but their 5-0 demolition of Watford but to bed any speculation of Liverpool bottling the league yet.

The Reds were at their very best against Watford and if they carry that through they should win easily.

Marco Silva’s Everton have one of the worst set-piece records in Premier League history and with Virgil Van Dijk scoring two headers against Watford they may be in some trouble here.

The Reds will play later than Man City this weekend meaning that the pressure will be on if City can get the result they expect against Bournemouth on Saturday.

Betting Tips

Although Liverpool are the likely winners of the game you can’t say there is value in backing them at such short odds.

A good price is found in the goalscorer market with Sadio Mane on such a hot streak at the moment odds of 6/4 for him to score is a great price.

The best bet in this match can be found using BetDynamo’s industry-leading Insights you can see that Over 10 corners only comes in in 43.95% of games involving these two sides, showing that backing anything in the unders corner market could seem like great value. Everton’s set piece record is atrocious so they will do anything to keep corner situations away so odds of 4/7 on under 11 corners looks like a great pick for this fixture.
