Chelsea vs Tottenham preview: Betting Tips, Latest Odds, Team News and Predictions

25th February 2019

Previews

Chelsea face Tottenham in a game which could be Maurizio Sarri’s last in charge at Stamford Bridge.

Spurs themselves had a wobble at the weekend losing to Burnley, effectively ending their hopes of crashing the title race.

Latest Odds

Chelsea are favourites as the home team and are available at odds of 29/20 (2.45) whereas Spurs are slightly longer at 21/10 (3.10) a draw is priced up at 12/5 (3.40).

Team News

Although Chelsea picked up no injuries or suspensions in the Carabao Cup final that game is likely to affect the line-up against Spurs. Kepa Arrizabalaga will most certainly be dropped after his antics in the cup final as he undermined his manager then made mistakes in the penalty shootout.

Aside from that Chelsea have no injury worries.

The big headline for Spurs is that Harry Kane returned against Burnley and even got himself on the scoresheet. Kane is likely to start against Chelsea but it is still too soon for Dele Alli who remains sidelined.

Preview

Despite holding Man City to a 0-0 draw the cup final may well have been more embarrassing for Maurizio Sarri than the 6-0 drubbing City handed them a few weeks back.

Sarri was completely undermined by Kepa as he tried to substitute him and it seems that the Italian has lost the dressing room, it could just be a matter of time before he is sacked and a poor performance here could be the nail in the coffin for the former Napoli boss.

As for Spurs, their hopes of crashing Liverpool and Man City’s party now look slim after a poor performance against Burnley at the weekend and they may have to settle for just another top four finish this season.

The return of Harry Kane will be a lift for everyone at the club and he could decide the outcome of this match as he has a great goalscoring history against Chelsea famously netting a brace against the Blues on New Year’s day in 2015.

Betting Tips

With the disarray at Chelsea at the moment you certainly could find value in backing Spurs to win at 21/10. That is a fantastic price for a top team to beat a side that is currently in crisis mode.

Sarri seems to have lost the dressing room but certain players are still putting in fantastic performances, Eden Hazard looked a constant threat against Man City but had no support up top and Cesar Azpilicueta looked back to his best despite the circus going on around him during the cup final. Willy Cabellero will also have a point to prove if he gets the nod between the sticks.

Using BetDynamo’s Insights you could pick out Both teams to score = no as a good bet. For this bet to land one team has to keep a clean sheet.

As the insights show BTTS has only come in 51.64% of the time in games between these two teams and with Chelsea looking weak up top but assured at the back this could be a very decent bet at odds of 11/10 (2.10).
