A punter could not believe his luck when his speculative £2 accumulator returned £92,944.

Chelsea fan Dean Clay thought he had won £69,882 but, upon collecting his winnings, he was told he had also won a bonus from Coral; worth in excess of £23,000.

The account manager from Eastleigh correctly predicted the outcome of 14 matches at odds of almost 35,000/1.

The long-shot bet included matches from the Premier League, Football League and even a selection from the Conference.

The majority of the picks were for the favourite to win but included four hard-to-call draws. And notably he didn’t have any of Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Barcelona or Real Madrid!

After the first 13 results landed on the Saturday, Mr Clay had an agonising wait until the following afternoon to see if Burnley would draw against West Brom in the final game.

The 48-year-old told The Telegraph he was too anxious to watch the match and went to play golf instead.

The decision saw him avoid the agony of seeing Burnley race into a two-goal lead before half-time.

Mr Clay was on the 16th hole when he finally worked up the courage to check the final score and was amazed to discover the Baggies had fought back to 2-2.

He planned to use the money to put down a bigger deposit on the house he moved into with his wife earlier that week.
